Bear Lake

Last weekend we went to our annual Bear Lake camping / triathlon trip with the Taylor family (Not as many people come this year--sad).  We met up with Lee & Ashley (Scott's bro) & his parents.

I love Bear Lake for the camping--and the perfect lake for my floating --closest I can get to Caribbean looking water.

We had HUGE storms during the night - which was pretty cool to hear the thunder so cool & have the lightning light up our tents.  Luckily it was good weather during the day = lots of fun.

Scott & his dad did the triathlon -here is a photo of them before the swim. (It sure is weird for me to go to all the triathlons but not compete--much more fun to be a participant than a spectator)

Scott had been training hard for this sprint--working on becoming super fast since he normally does long distance.  He had a great swim--besides some guy grabbing his ankle & ripping off his timing chip.  I didn't get a good photo of him coming out of the swim cause he was telling the race director that he no longer had a timing chip--he was told to just keep track of his own time & they will take care of it.

He said he was about 4th out of the swim--and must have done an awesome transition cause he was first on the bike--he was going, and going, and going.  I heard a rumor that the turn around had gotten blown away the night before & the race director didn't go check the signs in the morning  - I figured Scott must have missed it since I hadn't seen him come back.  Sure enough this was the case--so he could of won 1st place for the whole sprint race if not be the top 3, but all the top guys didn't turn around due to no sign or volunteer. (It was fixed for all the slower people)
So Scott ended the race after the bike, since he rode twice the distance--there really was no point.  Gotta love dumb race directors--puts another story in the book for interesting triathlons.

But other than that--we had a great weekend with family!  I always look forward to this little trip.
