Buying a home has been extremely stressful for Scott and I because we are in a huge hurry so we can still get the new homeowner tax credit and rural housing grant. We didn't get the first home (which I blogged about) due to the sellers agent telling the other buyer exactly what our offer was & giving them the opportunity to 'redo' thier offer...completely unethical but I guess it happens once in a while. We didn't get the second home that we put an offer on due to them accepting another offer a few hours earlier. At this point I am so sick of looking at homes. I don't know how real estate agents do it---I would go crazy looking at that many homes--guess you must have a real love for it. Despite the fact that everyone has said that short sales are a complete pain to deal with, I decided that they were our last choice till more homes come on the market--as I have looked at every other home in our price range from Santaquin to Saratoga Springs.
We were quite suprised that our offer for this short sale home was accepted only 1 week after submission. Today we should 'officially' be under contract. (I'm just waiting for the phone call...). We really hope that this goes through as it is a beautiful home in a new & very nice neighborhood. Cross your fingers!

Tammy it's so cute!!! I hope you guys get it. I am excited to see you this weekend. We can relax from our stressful lives.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice. What city is it in?
ReplyDeleteSantaquin...but not the old santaquin--Its the new Santaquin right off the exit. Exact same distance to/from work as Saratoga Springs (25 minutes). When I first heard 'Santaquin' I was quite nervous, but you have to go there to see it's very nice & not hickish or WT at all. & only 10 minutes from my mom!
