Baby Shower

On Saturday I had my baby shower (thought it would be best to have it before the holidays).  Got to see family and friends that I hadn't seen in a while.  I was sad quite a few people couldn't show due to vacations and sick kids...hopefully I'll see them soon!
Decorated Jamie's home...courtesy of the dollar store :)

My mom & Steve got me the AMAZING Bob Jogging Stroller & Chicco Key Fit Car Seat.  Thanks Mom!
My friends that showed up.  Amber my dorm buddy from BYU-Hawaii & Shalauna my Jr. High/High School BF.  Good friends are hard to find these days--even though I only see them once every few months, I sure am thankful for them & love how when I do see them it's as if we were never apart. (They also gave SUPER good presents:))

Scotts family: Patty & Gina, who made me super cute car seat covers, a breast feeding cover cloth, & bought some other cute goodies.
The Stanworth Family--hadn't seen my cousins/aunts in about 2 years!
And I thought these were the cutest snow boots I had ever seen that my cousin Katherine from SF sent me!

Now that the shower is over, I still have quite alot to buy: bottles, bottle liners, baby carrier, breast pump$$,  umbrella stroller,  portable changing pad, 2nd car seat base, nursing pads, bath stuff, humidifier, etc.  Guess I know what Scott & I are getting each other for Christmas!  I wish my ward would give me a shower, but I guess people would have to actually know you to do that :).

  2. I'm sad I couldn't be there for the shower. The few items I would definitely recommend to you - know that I know they are invaluable - would be:

    1. Aden and Anais swaddling blankets (they have them at target online but I just googled them and found them for a lot cheaper at Albee baby online). They are kind of pricey but they are the only swaddling blankets that are big enough and don't smother the baby but are perfect for underneath a regular blanket at nights.

    2. Onesies/outfits of any kind that have the hand covers built into them. My plain old gerber onesies with hand covers are something she wears pretty much every day because the hand mittens fall off and if she doesn't have her hands covered she scratches herself.

    3. Cloth diapers - used as burp clothes. They are worth their weight in gold because every time we burp her we use them. You probably already have these but they are the best for spit up.

Anyway, we love you Tam and can't wait for your little girl to get here. I think our babies are already friends and Estelle is just waiting for your baby to get here.

  3. I agree about getting swaddling blankets that are big enough. Most kinds sold in stores are waaay to small. I also agree about getting onesies with hand covers. Their sharp little nails grow so fast and are always scratching their faces. I'm so excited for you!
