Arches

Went to Arches this past weekend with Scott's parents & Lee & Ashley (Scott's bro & wife from Boise).  Thanks to my mom I am a big fan of any of the National Parks (growing up we would go to one every fall & spring break...then Scott & I use to backpack in them all the time).  We weren't down there too long so we didn't get to do as much hiking as I would have liked (I consider Arches to be more of a 'stroll' than a 'hike'), but it was still fun....quite windy, but still fun.

Lately Kadee Lynn has been having issues spending time outside of home, so I wasn't very excited to go thinking it was going to be an exhausting weekend of screaming, but she did great.  She slept the whole drive, and on the hike she was pushed in the stroller.  We put her in the carrier on the way to delicate arch, and she screamed for 45 minutes straight (probably because of the wind), so Scott had to carry her in the blanket on the way back, his arms were dead afterward.

She was a happy girl even though she went to bed 3 hours later than normal.  In the hotel she just woke up for 1 feeding like she does most nights at home, we brought her bouncer to sleep in - much easier than the pack 'n play.

She was so tired that when we got home that she fell asleep at 6:30 (she usually goes to bed at 7:30) and slept for 10 hours (she normally sleeps 7-8 hrs), fed then went back to bed for another 2 (like normal).  And ever since being home her naps have been excellent!  I thought trips were suppose to mess up your routine, not make it better....oh well I'm not complaining!  Now we are ready to take her on more trips...although I still am not ready to take her camping - that seems like way too much work.

Patty is terrified of heights, this is her being scared as she is walking the 'bowl' to get to delicate arch

As you can tell, Kadee Lynn enjoyed the arches from under her blankets

Where's Waldo?  Yes I am hidden in the photo with Ashley & Patty

The Taylors just chillin

Couldn't go any farther than this with the stroller...too much sand.  I'm glad I could use Kadee Lynn's swaddling blanket as a scarf...it was cold

  1. I thought trips were supposed to ruin routines too, but ever since we visited Utah for Christmas, Cade has been such a great sleeper. Looks like you guys had fun!
